Care Network
Care Network is a charity operating in the borough of Blackburn with Darwen that believes everyone is entitled to an independent, healthy and safe life. The charity enables anyone living in the borough to access help, advice and support when they face any of life’s challenges.
We worked with Care Network to create a series of simple explainer films that outline the main service streams available and demonstrate how Care Network helps local people. In total we shot four films, often in a live environment when people were accessing the services and advice available. We were required to film with care and sensitivity, at the same time capturing the positive experience and environment the Care Network provides for many vulnerable people.
This film profiled The Hub, an invaluable place for many in the heart of the community, where they can take part in meetups and support groups, access advice and information, and learn about the Safe Trader and Healthy Homes initiatives.

The Safe Trader Scheme covers services that allow local residents to remain living safely and independently. Over 50 local businesses have been through rigorous quality assurance checks and specialist training so that vulnerable people in Blackburn with Darwen can arrange for home improvements easily and with peace of mind.
Care Network’s Healthy Homes project offers all adults and families in Blackburn with Darwen expert knowledge, advice and support to help them to achieve a warm, hazard-free and energy-efficient home.
Care Network delivers a number of projects for people with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities and Autism including ‘Learning Disability & Autism Partnership Boards’, ‘Digital Lifelines’ and ‘Resolve Disability Peer Support Group’.
Following on from our video work Blossom was asked to shoot photography over a number of days to capture imagery of Care Network’s team and offices and the services that they offer.
